J’ai une question!

Questions about classes2024-09-26T19:29:24+00:00

You dance but it was a while ago –> Yes.
You’ve never danced –> Yes.
You are a boy –> Yes.
You are overweight /flat feets/white hair/curves/ no flexiblity/the memory of a goldfish –> Yes.

Anyway, THERE IS A SPOT FOR YOU HERE! In fact, the only thing missing is you!

First time with us? We suggest you start with our signature Sans chichis class (French for “no fuss”). It’s a happy mix of training and ballet, to try it all. Then, our Corps de ballet barre workout will make you sweat (in a good way!) and Petite technique will make you feel like a real ballerina. Try Floor Barre for a calming but hard-working class, Stretch to finally hit your splits, or Contemporary for free dancing! Finally, if you want a good foundation on the barre, we recommend our Care Barre class!

When it comes to clothing, it’s about being comfortable and feeling pretty fierce! Leggings & tank top or leotard & tights, anything does the trick. However, you will need a pair of ballet shoes or socks (we sell cute ones at the store if you need them!), a reusable water bottle, a hair tie is highly recommended. Everything else is available on site – yoga mat provided for free!

Yes, the classes are built to allow everyone to join them anytime throughout the season.

*HOWEVER: technical classes may require 2-3 weeks of adjustment if you join them during the season, because we progress over the weeks. You simply have to go at your own pace and trust the process 🙂

Questions about kids classes2024-12-02T15:02:32+00:00
Yes, we offer a trial class for children at $12 + taxes 🙂 That being said, it is really normal that your child does not “participate” very actively from the start. Indeed, just watching, then entering the class, speaking to the instructor, joining the group and finally, dancing, are normal stages of learning. Give your child a few lessons to feel comfortable!
As long as your child feels good and cute, it’s perfect! Leggings & camisole or leotard & tights, anything does the trick. Fairy wings encouraged! However, you need a pair of leather ballet shoes (mandatory for safety), a reusable water bottle, a hair tie is recommended.
Yes! For our young dancers, allow a few weeks for adaptation. In general, there is no problem to start at any time. However, we recommend coming every week so that kids do not have to reacquaint themselves with the place and the group each time, and can learn as much as possible!

Classical ballet in its final form is not appropriate for children under 7 years old. It can create joint problems, growth problems, injuries and surpass children’s ability to concentrate. That’s why we do pre-ballet (which IS ballet!) to learn equally important things: rhythm, musicality, movement, directions, the body in space, textures, group work, memory, proprioception… It might not look like Swan Lake and can feel quite simple at times but trust us – it’s the right pathway to develop a great passion instead of knee problems 🙂  PS: Feel free to ask us about our class plans and the purpose of our games and exercises!

On the contrary, your child who is sitting on the floor the whole class is actively participating! Standing and dancing is the LAST step in the process of integrating the child into the class. The whole process includes looking from the window with mom, entering the room for two minutes, then agreeing to talk to the teacher or friends, and finally being able to stay there alone during the class hour. So don’t be discouraged, your child who is a little shy learns just as much and reaches the final stages of their integration!

We know that all parents like to see their little one at work and we understand 100%, but the answer is no. Apart from parent-child lessons, we ask parents to leave the studio quickly when their child arrives/not to squish their faces in the windows/not to block everyone’s passage in the door frame. This allows the instructor and assistant to do their work, and the little ones to concentrate. A bit like daycare or school! A recital in the form of an open class is also planned three times a year.

Each person who attends classes at the studio must have their own class card. So for two children, two class cards. That being said, we offer a $10 discount for references, so each child benefits from a discount on their lessons, ask us at reception!

Make sure you register the child under their own name, not yours!

Check that their age is correctly indicated in their account. Without a date of birth, the system will not allow children to register for classes.

Make sure you are choosing the correct age group.

Book classes on the computer rather than on the app!

Questions about facilities2024-09-26T19:18:26+00:00
No showers, but changing rooms, yes! We also offer washcloth stations if you need them. No need for a lock, these are ballet-style changing rooms where you leave your coat, and bags can go into the studio!

Questions about memberships and class cards2024-09-26T19:24:17+00:00

Our classes are never free, because the work of our teachers and our reception team is valuable! But you can easily buy a single class to try. We also have an unlimited introductory week at $46 +tx or a trial class for children at $12 +tx 🙂

It’s a two-step process: purchase your class card or membership, then book your spot in the class of your choice. Once you have purchased one or more classes, you can book all of your chosen classes, or decide as you go  (but some classes fill up more quickly). Either way, you can change your reservations up to 12 hours before class. We also like drop-ins!

We’re so sorry you missed class (for real). We know that sometimes it’s just impossible. However, we require 12 hours’ notice to be able to offer your spot to people who are on the waiting list. If you don’t give us 12 hours, we can’t join them and that’s too bad for us and for the other customers. That’s why your class is lost, but don’t worry, we know you’ll make up for it next time!

Class cards are non-refundable, but they do not expire. It is set up this way to give you more flexibility! Subscriptions are non-refundable and can be paused or stopped upon request.

A purchase at Mile-End, Verdun or Saint-Lambert gives you access to the services of the three studios, yay! On the other hand, Fleury and NDG are franchises, and their class cards and subscriptions are exclusive to the studio where they were purchased.

The waitlist will send a text message to all people who are registered on the waitlist, as soon as a place becomes available. The first person to respond will get the spot. Several places may become available, so stay tuned!
